Kanban Boards

Organise project work, task documents, and team activity with Kanban boards.

Kanban boards bring delivery work, task discussions, and supporting documents together in StationOps. Create boards for one project or use an organisation-level board to coordinate work across several projects.

Create a Board

  1. Open Kanban from an organisation or project.
  2. Select Create board.
  3. Enter a board name and optional description.
  4. At organisation level, link the board to one or more projects. Leave the selection empty to make it organisation-wide.
  5. Save the board.

Project boards stay in the current project's context. Organisation boards can span multiple projects, which is useful for shared platform or operations work.

Work With Cards

Use the board to create, update, and move cards through the configured columns. A card can include:

  • Priority and due date.
  • Labels and assignees.
  • A linked StationOps entity.
  • Completion state.
  • Comments and activity history.

Use the board view for workflow and the table view when scanning or sorting a larger set of cards. Column ordering and card movement reflect the team's current workflow state.

Add Task Documents

Open a card's document area to create longer-form notes, runbooks, investigation records, or implementation plans associated with that task. Task documents support:

  • Rich document editing.
  • File attachments.
  • Portrait or landscape page orientation.
  • Short links that can be copied and shared.

The board document page lets you search documents by task, column, or content and sort the results. This makes operational knowledge discoverable without separating it from the work that produced it.

Review Activity

Board and card activity provide an audit trail of changes and discussion. Use card comments for task-specific decisions and task documents for information that should remain structured and reusable.
