Connect AWS
StationOps deploys infrastructure through an authorised AWS account connection. Connections are created at organisation scope and selected for a project or individual project environments.
Authorise an Account
- Open the organisation's Settings > AWS connections.
- Select Connect AWS account.
- Enter a name that identifies the account, such as
ProductionorShared development. - Select Authorise with AWS.
- In the AWS page that opens, review the CloudFormation stack and select Create stack.
- Return to StationOps and wait for the connection status to succeed.
Do not close the StationOps connection dialog until the account reports success. Use Reopen AWS window if the authorisation page was closed before the stack was created.
Assign It to a Project
- Open Project settings > AWS.
- Select Create or Update.
- Choose a successful AWS connection and deployment region.
- Save the project configuration.
Projects can use an organisation AWS configuration or select account and region settings at a narrower scope when that option is enabled. Confirm the resolved account and region on the AWS Settings page before deploying.
Verify the Target Account
The account and region determine where resources and costs are created. Confirm both values before every first deployment and after changing an organisation-level AWS connection.
Troubleshooting
- If the connection remains pending, reopen AWS and check the CloudFormation stack events.
- If an account is missing from the project selector, confirm its StationOps status is successful.
- If a deploy reports permissions errors, check whether the authorisation stack is complete and unchanged.
